Privacy Policy
Beeblio keeps as little as it can: your language, your word list, and what you’ve read. This page explains the rest in plain language.
Digideal LLC, doing business as Beeblio ("Beeblio", "we") operates the Beeblio web app at beebl.io and the Beeblio iOS and Android apps. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account data. When you create an account: your email address, a hashed password and, optionally, your name. Guest accounts have none of these — only an anonymous id stored on your device.
- Learning data. The languages you study, your estimated level, the readings generated for you or pasted by you, the words you save and your review history. This is the product; it is stored so it can be shown back to you.
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (pages viewed, features used, device type). Inputs are masked. On the website this goes through our own domain; we do not sell or share it with advertisers.
- Technical logs. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) kept briefly for security and reliability.
AI processing
Readings, simplifications and word glosses are generated by a large language model (Anthropic Claude) from your level, language and, for pasted texts, the text you provide. We send only what is needed to produce the result; we do not send your email or name. Text you paste is stored with your account so you can read it again.
What we don't do
- We don't sell personal data.
- We don't show ads or share data with ad networks.
- We don't read your data except to operate and debug the service.
Where data lives
Data is stored on servers we operate and with the processors named above (PostHog for analytics, Anthropic for generation). Transfers are protected by standard contractual safeguards.
Your rights
You can export or correct your data by contacting us, and you can delete your account — and everything in it — at any time from the Account page in the app, or by following the steps on the Delete account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent. If you are in the EU/UK you also have the rights of access, rectification, portability, restriction and objection under the GDPR.
Children
Beeblio is intended for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date above. Material changes are announced in the app.
